Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the National Cyber Security Centre is warning organisations to improve their cyber resilience and strengthen their online defences.
With a third of businesses now reporting cyber-attacks at least once a week, the Government is advising that small businesses should adopt the Government backed Cyber Essentials certification scheme. The scheme helps businesses improve their resilience against the most common forms of cyber-attack and can substantially reduce the chances of them becoming victims of cyber-crime.
The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) have a Small Business Guide which provides a five-step plan offering practical advice on areas such as “protecting your organisation from malware” and “how to avoid phishing attacks”, using this guide can help to protect an organisations data and assets.

Most small businesses hold sensitive information that they have an obligation to protect; whether a self-employed sole trader, small business or medium sized organisation. Cyber security is something we all need to be vigilant about and take practical steps to improve.
